More than 300 million years ago a tropical forest of ancient trees grew up to 50 meters in height near what is now Blanche Brook. One of the first species to inhabit the Earth and now long extinct, these trees have turned to stone. Join your guide for a short 250 meter return walk along the Fossil Foot Path to hear the story of these rare specimens and their role in the evolution of trees. We recommend wearing hiking sandals or waterproof shoes as you may wade into the shallow river waters to view fossils.

Please arrive 10 minutes early. Tour starts at 11AM sharp. Cost is by donation.

Covid protocol: All events that are hosted by the Stephenville Cultural Destination Committee will commit to having hand sanitizer and masks available.
